iNew phone U8W review: 5.5-inch display, 1GB RAM&8MP Camera

iNew U8W is an Android phone with a slick design, powerful specs and reasonable price. U8W is equipped with 5.5-inch screen with 720p resolution,MediaTek MTK6580 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM.

The arc edges gives the iNew U8W a supremely classy look, too. The edges look smooth but also incredibly refined — and most importantly, they don’t make it uncomfortable to hold at all. The arc edge design,combined with the positive 2.5D screen, iNew U8W is really lightly and thin to hold.

The volume rocker and power keys are placed at the right edge , headphone and micro USB port sit at the top. The back features a camera lens, LED flash and a subtle branding. Overall, iNew has done a decent job in the design department.

Display

It has a large 5.5-inch 720p HD display. Usually, we don’t want to use higher resolution screens for now as they take up too much battery.For the price, this is a good enough display. It shows colors that have good contrast. The text appears clear and viewing angles are good.

Camera

It has a 8-megapixel camera on the rear and an 2-megapixel shooter on the front.On some aspects – colour contrast and level of detail – it would be good enough for most people. At least in the good light, the 8-megapixel shooter in the U8W can click nice photos. The front camera clicks 2-megapixel selfies. It is good enough until you stick to clicking selfies in day light.

System

It runs Android 5.1,with a nice, simple interface. There are a few gesture control features that add to the usability of the phone.You can set some pretty useful gestures to use certain features, like drawing a circle on the screen to open the camera app.

Performance

This smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK6580 quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. The phone also comes with a 8GB internal memory, and the memory is expandable to 32GB with a microSD card. Though memory can be expanded to bigger capacities these days, the 32GB capability is decent enough.

The U8W is not a fast phone. But it is good enough and has no noticeable lag. The core hardware inside it – MediaTek MTK6580 processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage – is decent. In fact, it is more than decent to provide enough performance to make the almost stock Android smooth and lag free on the U8W. Apps install fast and photos open quickly.

Battery

2500 mAh battery inside the iNew U8W can keep it chugging for daily use.

For a mid-ranged smartphone, iNew U8W is a worthy purchase, in case you do not have sufficient money to spend on a better performing smartphone.
